Xavier Pacheco - Deputy Principal
Master's Degree in Educational Centre Management, Innovation and Leadership, Master’s in Learning Difficulties, IB Advanced Certificate in Leadership Research (UCJC). Collaborates with Fundació Universitaria Martí l'Humà as a teacher of the subject Educational Neurotechnology.
In the over 20 years that he has been linked to SEK, he has served as a language teacher, Coordinator of the Language Department, TAC Coordinator and Secondary Education Coordinator. He currently works as Vice Principal at SEK Catalunya.

Nathaly González - Preschool Teacher
Nathaly is a PhD candidate who has recently submitted her dissertation “Preschoolers’ Peer Interaction in Autonomous and Collaborative EFL Tasks Supported by Beebots and iPads: Making Visible Language Learning Triggers” at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). She has a master’s degree in Research in Education, UAB, and a master’s degree in Language and Literature Teaching and Learning, UAB. Nathaly has been awarded a Short Term Scientific Mission financed by COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) as part of the DigiLitEY project (Digital Literacy Practices in the Early Years) hosted by the University of Helsinki with referent scholars in Preschool Education resulting in the report “Preschoolers' Agency in Technology Supported Language Learning Activities”.
Nathaly is an active member of an AGAUR’s consolidated research group, GREIP, and an associate professor at the UAB. She has edited and published articles related to her fields of interest and has presented her work in international conferences in the field of education.
Nathaly is a preschool teacher at SEK Catalunya and a certified IB workshop leader and visiting team member.
Mireia Blancafort - Diploma in Primary Education and Speech Therapy
Mireia Blancafort has a Diploma in Primary Education and Speech Therapy. On completing her studies, she started working in teaching at a school in Granollers for eight years.
She began work at SEK Group as a Early Childhood teacher in 1995, the year in which SEK International School Catalunya was established. In July of that same year, she worked as a teacher at the first Summer Camp that was held at the school. Together with her, her son and daughter began their schooling at SEK Catalunya and completed their studies up to Baccalaureate. Currently, her daughter has a degree in Audiovisual Communications and her son is a Telecommunications Engineer.
In 1996 she was appointed Early Childhood Coordinator, a post she held for several years. As of 2010, she changed to Primary Coordinator. In 2017 she returned to teaching, her vocation, a primary tutor and teacher.
Ignasi Llobera Philosophy Baccalaureate Teacher
Doctor in Moral Philosophy with International Honours (2014), Master’s in Contemporary Thought (2009) and Degree in Philosophy (2008, Extraordinary Degree Award) from the University of Barcelona (UB). The first two years of his doctorate he was a visiting researcher at the University of St. Andrews (Scotland, United Kingdom) and at the University of Notre Dame (Indiana, United States of America).
In 2011, he returned to Barcelona where he taught both the bachelor’s degree and the Degree in Philosophy at the UB. He has spoken at international conferences and has published (and continues to publish) articles related to his speciality.
He currently teaches philosophy on the Diploma Programme, year 2 philosophy on the Spanish Bachillerato and is Head of Humanities at SEK International School Catalunya.
Carmen Fernández - Spanish and English Teacher
Teaching in Spanish and English, Master's Degree in Educational Centre Management, Innovation and Leadership, Master’s in Learning Difficulties, IB Advanced Certificate in Leadership Research. Member of the IB educator network as consultant (for candidate schools), workshop manager (professional development of IB educators) and member of visiting teams (verification and evaluation of schools). Experience in schools in Spain, the US and Qatar.
